Ann Taylor – My Mother

A Special Mother’s Day Tribute

Who dress my doll in clothes so gay
And taught my pretty how to play
And minded all I have to say,
My Mother, my Mother
Who ran to help me when I fell
And would some pretty story tell
Or kiss the place to make it well
My Mother, my Mother.

~Ann Taylor

Note: A song I learned when I was 9 years old at school in Grade 3 from an old country town school of Karomatan, Lanao del Norte. My teacher was Mrs Gloria R Alagar. A tribute to my dearest Mother, to all the Mothers and to my dear favourite teacher who taught us this song. I still remember this song after 49 years since learning it by heart. I also taught this song to my children whom I requested to sing when I celebrated my 50th birthday while we still lived in Orange. They surprised a handful of our chosen guests for that special Winter Night celebration held at Millthorpe’s little town cafe.
